Donate Life TriLaVie Team Annual Event: 5k Walk/Run is an event attended by thousands to honor those who donated organs and recipients who enjoy life because of it.
Donate Life 5k Walk/Run at Cal State Fullerton
One of our most treasured events is the Donate Life 5k Walk/Run April 30th at Cal State Fullerton. It is more of an “event” than a race. It is a spectacular gathering of family members of people who donated organs as well as recipients. Between the Davis family, friends and TLV members, Team DAVIS is usually the largest group at the event – and the event hosts THOUSANDS.
For us, it is bitter sweet gathering that serves as a celebration of Scott Davis’s life – his short but full life – and of the lives he supported with the donation of 5 of his organs so that others could thrive. (see below for details and article about Scott). I’ve brought my family to this event, and it is the most memorable experience my daughters have. They are moved by stories of the donor recipients, entertained by the presentations on the stage, and feel part of something so big and important. And.. well… they like the expo with games and freebies as well as the celebrity sightings. They are teenagers after all! But the message of the morning – to treasure life, donate organs and celebrate SCOTT are not lost on them.
DETAILS FROM MINDY DAVIS (Scott's Mom):
It's that time again to join our family on Saturday April 29th at the Donate Life Walk/Run to honor Scott and support organ donation. Bill and I will host Uncle Larry's fish tacos at our house afterwards.
Please join us in this meaningful event and help us be the largest team for the 9th year!
At this time I think the 3 recipients of Scott's organ recipients we have met will be part of the team.

Scott Davis was 19 years old and home for college vacation when he was out skateboarding in Newport. He was a wonderful young man and a fabulous athlete, specializing in wrestling. There is now a tournament in his honor at Scott's Alma Mater - Mater Dei High School.

While this is upsetting for all of us, I did want to share their story as well as pass on a wonderful event that honors Scott’s life and the organs that were donated so that others would have life.
